2024 Awards

The Ohio-Kentucky Consortium is pleased to announce the following awardees of the Peter D. Mosher Education Leadership Conference Scholarship:

​About the Award: This award has been created in memory of Peter D. Mosher, PT, DPT, OCS who was a former chair of the Ohio-Kentucky Consortium as well as an accomplished author and presenter in the field of physical therapy.  This award was designed to recognize an individual who demonstrates the characteristics of compassion, excellence, and a vision for physical therapy clinical education. Award recipients receive a certificate of recognition and reimbursement for up to $1,500 to attend the annual APTA Education Leadership Conference.  The nominations and selection procedures are as follows:

Licensed PT educator who affiliate with at least one of the Ohio-Kentucky Consortium member institutions

  • Self-nominate through an application process.

  • Have demonstrated the characteristics of compassion and excellence

  • Have a vision for physical therapy clinical education

 

Kaylynn Schwamb, PT, DPT, cert. DN received her Bachelors’ in Health Science and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Bellarmine University in 2018. Kaylynn has six years of experience working with the neurological patient population and specializes in brain injury rehabilitation. She has served as a clinical instructor for several students annually. Her areas of passion surrounding clinical education focus on training students to communicate effectively with clients with severe communication deficits and manage brain injury-related behaviors. Kaylynn is dry needle certified through American Academy of Manipulative Therapy (AAMT) and uses her skillset to assist in management of pain and hypertonia of her clients. This year will be Kaylynn’s first year attending the Educational Leadership Conference. She is eager to improve her leadership and mentorship skills to maximize her impact on students and transition into a Site Coordinator of Clinical Education role.

Erin Koenig, PT, DPT has been a physical therapist with Athletico since 2004, treating patients in the outpatient orthopedic setting, with a focus on pelvic health. She completed her Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Health through the APTA’s Academy of Pelvic Health in 2014. Erin has been passionate about clinician education since the start of her career, serving in a Clinical Instructor role from 2005-2011.  She moved into an SCCE role in 2009. She completed the APTA’s Level 1 Credentialed Clinical Instructor program in 2009 and the Level 2 Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program in 2013.  In her current role as Clinical Education Specialist, Erin continues to serve as the SCCE for the Chicago, Illinois, area while also leading Athletico’s Midwest team of fifteen SCCEs. She is passionate about providing mentorship and training to Athletico’s SCCEs and CIs, allowing them to create exceptional learning experiences for students. Erin is excited to attend ELC in Oakland, California, to network with other educators from across the country and bring back innovative ideas to enhance clinical experiences in the future.
